Diving manual and DVD, and short quizzes confirm you've picked up the information you need. This is followed by your

Where can I go from here?
Before continuing with further education in the form of the Rescue Diver course, you will need
to upgrade from Adventure Diver to Advanced Open Water Diver. This will involve another 2
Knowledge Development segments and 2 additional Adventure Dives at an additional cost of £165 including PADI

The Emergency First Response Primary Care (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Secondary Care (First Aid) and (optional)
Care For Children courses teach you how to provide emergency care for someone in need. These courses make learning easy by
providing a non-stressful environment in which you practise and apply emergency care skills. Emergency First Response courses
are based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care - guidelines produced through a consensus
process of practising professionals in the emergency medical field. The Care For Children course can be taught separately, in
which case the whole curriculum is followed, or taught in conjunction with the CPR/First Aid course, in which case the
course content is integrated for efficiency and to avoid unnecessary repetition. This course is for divers and non-divers
alike and can therefore be taken at any point in your diving education path. However it, or another sanctioned CPR/First Aid
course, must be taken prior to progressing past Rescue Diver Knowledge Development Session 2
and Rescue Training Session 2.
How long will it take?

lasting approximately 3.5 hours. During this you will learn and practise 8 Primary Care required skills and 4 Secondary Care
required skills, followed by 4 Primary Care scenarios and 1 Secondary Care scenario that will allow you to apply your
Emergency First Responder knowledge and skills to realistic incidents.
Taught separately, the Care For Children course, will involve approximately 5 hours of Knowledge Development where you'll
learn how to provide emergency care for injured or ill infants and children. You'll complete this primarily in your own time
using the Care For Children Participant Manual and DVD and a Final Exam confirms you've picked up the information you need.
